Trawl Observation Cruise Concludes

The NOAA Ship Albatross IV returned to Woods Hole on 9/27/02, having completed the Trawl Warp Observation Cruise. The ship is scheduled to leave Woods Hole on September 30 to begin Leg III of the Autumn Bottom Trawl Survey.

During the observation cruise, the scientific party occupied seven stations off Southeastern New England, and completed experimental tows at different depths with trawl warps deployed equally, and at various offsets. Water clarity was sufficient for direct observation of most tows. Data collected is being processed for use at the trawl performance workshop scheduled for October 2 and 3.
