Barb received an BA in math and economics from Drew University in New Jersey. She attended the University of Rhode Island where she received her MS in Resource Economics. She has worked at the Northeast Fisheries Science Center, first as an Operations Research analyst, and then as an economist, since 1987.
Barb's favorite species are Atlantic Red Crab, and the mid-atlantic Golden Tilefish, both extremely good eating. She has a balance of management responsibilities with those two species, as well as research interests around catch share programs. She has worked on many fisheries related data initiatives, such as data access and query tools, PARR, and helping to identify and fix problems with fishery dependent data collections. In her off time, she enjoys gardening, scrapbooking, family genealogy, and pottery, for starters.
