Title: Oral History in the Fisheries: Its Uses and
Description: Oral history is the process of "gathering, preserving and interpreting the memories and voices of people" and communities. Through recorded recollections that describe an interviewee's direct participation in historic fisheries, these narrative testimonies allow us to re-examine the past. In this talk, Josh Wrigley will use audio samples to discuss the role that oral history can play in how we think about the history of our fishing communities.
