Title: Decision support
modeling for multi-attribute water quality in the Narragansett Bay watershed
Narragansett Bay is a large estuary in the U.S. Northeast that supports the well-being of more than 2 million adjacent residents through valued uses such as tourism and recreation, commercial and recreational fishing, and more. Management of point and non-point source pollution in the watershed has had measurable impacts on several key metrics of water quality in the bay (Narragansett Bay Estuary Program, 2017). We will discuss a spatially-explicit integrated assessment model that evaluates willingness-to-pay for changes in six dimensions of estuarine water quality, and its use in evaluating retrospective and prospective changes from heuristic and stakeholder-driven policy scenarios.
