Katey Marancik , Fish Biologist III (contracted through IAP World Services, Inc.), verifies identifications and studies the ecology of ichthyoplankton collected during the Southeast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program (SEAMAP) in the Gulf of Mexico and the Ecosystem Monitoring (EcoMon) program on the northeast U.S. shelf.

Her research interests include various aspects of larval fish ecology in the north and western Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico including: improving descriptions of larval fish taxa for identification; describing abundance, spatial, and temporal distribution patterns; and examining relationships between larval fish and their physical and biological environments.
