The Gulf of Maine Aquarium (GMA) is hosting a series of informal workshops to familiarize Maine fishermen with the collaborative research process and current funding opportunities. These workshops will provide:

An introduction to the various funding opportunities currently available to

those wishing to pursue collaborative research and selective fishing gear development.

An opportunity to speak with fishermen and scientists with first-hand project experience.

A "guided" tour of the proposal and funding process, from the genesis of the idea to the distribution of funds.

Advice on how to navigate the proposal process, and how to turn an interesting idea into a successful and meaningful project.

Please attend if you would like to become involved in collaborative research.

This includes those who have not yet been involved as well as those who have some experience in collaborative research projects.
