^a Main species for a trip is defined as the species with the largest total weight (live) of landings. ^b For example, in 1996, 6.29% of all cod landings were from trips where cod was the main species, defined as the greatest live weight kept. The remaining 93.71% of cod was landed on trips where another species was the "main species."
