The Job Corp program was just one year old when these trainees went on a cruise aboard the Albatross IV. The Albatross IV was a new vessel at the time, in the third year of what became 40+ years of service.

Established in 1964 as part of President Lyndon Johnson’s antipoverty program, Job Corp is an educational and vocational training program for 16- to 24-year-olds.

The trainees here are examining a large cod.
