Woods Hole, a little village on the tip of Cape Cod, was once a port for whaling ships and merchant vessels. Today the village is a world-famous capital for marine science. “Little Village, Big Science” is a photography exhibit, opened in the Woods Hole Science Aquarium in June 2007, that illustrates how science became the life-blood of the little village in the 19th and 20th centuries.

“Little Village, Big Science” was funded by a grant from NOAA’s Preserve America Initiative Grant Program and visitors’ donations.
