What does the Fisheries Acoustic Research Group do?

The primary responsibility of the Fisheries Acoustics Research Group is to use state-of-the-art acoustic technologies to provide unbiased fisheries-independent abundance estamates of commercially important fish and squid stocks in the Northwest Atlantic. The goal is to effectively implement fisheries acoustics as a cost-efficient approach for improving the precision and accuracy of abundance estimates of these stocks.
