Steve Cadrin, NOAA/UMass CMER
Director, New Bedford, MA
Steve has been a fisheries biologist for 18 years. He has
recently expanded his role with NOAA by accepting a position
as UMass Cooperative Marine Education and Research (CMER)
Director. Steve is still involved with stock assessments of
yellowtail flounder and his research interests include applications
of electronic tagging to stock assessment science.

Josh Moser,
Integrated Statistics, Woods Hole, MA
Josh has been with NEFSC for nearly 3 years
working with Gary Shepherd on a cooperative black sea bass
tagging project. He has assisted with many other cooperative
studies including yellowtail tagging. Josh spent 2 years prior
to NEFSC in Zambia, Africa teaching fisheries aquaculture.
Josh was also field coordinator for the 2005 scup tagging
season at the NEFSC.

| Larry Alade,
NOAA/UMES Graduate Scientist, Woods Hole, MA
Larry is working on the population models and holding studies
for the yellowtail tagging project. At the same time, he is
busily finishing off his course work and thesis for his PhD.

Cathy Sumi,
Integrated Statistics, Woods Hole, MA
Cathy recently joined the yellowtail tagging
team to coordinate outreach, tag reporting, and work on our
constantly growing database. Cathy has studied sea urchin
and grey seal populations on the shores of eastern Canada,
but for the last 2 years she has worked with New England fishermen
to collect fisheries data.

| Dave Martins,
School for Marine Science and Technology, UMass Dartmouth
Dave is a Stock Assessment Technician at SMAT, and when he
is not at sea tagging yellowtail or cod, he can be found collecting
tags at the docks in New Bedford and organizing research field
work. Dave's repore and dedicated attention to dockside outreach,
has contributed enormously to the tag return pool.

Rodney Avila,
New Bedford MA
Rodney has decades of experience in the Georges
Bank yellowtail flounder fishery as an owner and operator
of the F/V Trident. Rodney has cooperated in developing tagging
protocol and will continue to support outreach activities
in New Bedford, where nearly half of the U.S. yellowtail catch
is landed.

| David Goethel,
F/V Ellen Diane, Hampton NH
David is an experienced New England groundfish fisherman
with experience in cod tagging and cooperative research. David
has been instrumental in the cage experiments to study tag
induced mortality of yellowtail and continues to help with
outreach in the Gulf of Maine area

Luis Ribas, F/V
Blue Skies, Provincetown, MA
Luis has been involved in international fisheries for decades.
Luis participates in local and regional research projects
and management councils. He also fishes full time off Cape
Cod. Luis and his family have been the leading boat in the
Provincetown "Blessing of the Fleet" for the past
several years.

| Fred Mattera,
F/V Travis & Natalie, W. Kingston RI
Fred is a highliner in the yellowtail fishery and has been
instrumental in the development of the Cooperative Research
Partners Program industry-based survey (IBS) for yellowtail.
Fred has also provided input for the tagging study design
and will coordinate recaptures in the IBS study.
