Groundfish Peer Review (GPR) Public Session

Attached is a preliminary agenda for the Groundfish Peer Review (GPR) that will occur in early February. The public session with the peer reviewers will occur during 3-5 February, the reviewers will meet in executive session during 6-8 February. The venue is the New England Center, on the campus of UNH, in Durham, New Hampshire. Details on lodging there are given in the agenda. Please note that if you require lodging at the Center, the appropriate form must be sent to them directly (attached).

There are a number of details yet to be finalized, including the exact terms of reference, identification of additional contributed documents, and presentations to be made by independent scientists and other interested parties. There will be adequate time in the agenda to assure that all relevant information is put before the reviewers.

In particular, it is important to identify any additional documents to be submitted to the reviewers, and to provide copies of those documents for consideration by the peer reviewers before the meeting. If individuals want to contribute documents other than those specified in the preliminary agenda, they should be sent to:

Mr. Paul Howard,
Executive Director
New England Fishery Management Council:

50 Water Street, Mill 2
Newburyport, MA 01950
Phone: (978) 465-0492
Fax: (978) 465-3116

phoward@nefmc.org

Similarly, if individuals wish to make presentations regarding the three topics of the review to the peer reviewers (e.g. trawl surveys, reference points, and rebuilding projections), they should identify their desire to do so, along with the approximate time required, so that the agenda can be completed. Requests for presentation time on the agenda should also be submitted to Paul Howard.

As additional details are finalized these will be posted.
