2006 Interns

Group photo of 2006 interns and staff

In 2006 the region hosted:
  • Three students through the American Fisheries Society Hutton Program, including two students in Milford, CT, and one in Narragansett, RI.
  • Several students from Elizabeth City State University via the SCEP program and an MOU with the university.
  • Three interns from the Entry Point! Program for disabled students at the Regional Office. Our summer intern coordinators worked with Entry Point and the University of Washington Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology (DO-IT) Scholars program to arrange for a training session at the Regional Office (for mentors and supervisors) specifically regarding dealing with disabilities, e.g., job accommodation training and disability etiquette. The DO-IT Scholars Program supports programs that maximize the independence, productivity, and participation of people with disabilities as well as specifically supporting students with disabilities. Over 20 Northeast Regional Office employees participated in the training.
